Here's the YNT Armageddon storyline:
After the fall of the Soviet Union, several communist radicals gathered arms and terrorized small cities. During the Allies' war with Yuri, these rebels formed violent gangs killed civilians at random. Eventually the populous was forced out of their homes. And the terrorists established military installations. The remnants of the Soviet government and the surviving leaders went into hiding, trying to covertly increase their military to prewar levels.
As Yuri saw he was losing the war, he sent a small team of clones to enter the U.S. and capture NORAD. There they found plans for future Allied aircraft, including the F-117, K-2B, and the F-2002. His minions copied these plans and returned them to a hidden Yuri base below the one that was sabotaged on Alcatraz. Immediately Yuri began production of his own aircraft. He took his existing mind-control and chaos technology and created the 'Scythe' Mind Corruptor, an airborne version of the Psychic Tower; and the Chaos Bomber, essentially a Chaos Tank with wings. His gattling weapon systems were improved as well. The Gattling Fist, which can fire tank shells in rapid succession, added to his arsenal of firepower.
As Russia fell to terrorism and destruction, the Soviet military was running low on funding. They desperately worked on industrial improvements to make it more profitable. Next they improved on their industrial plants so the war supplies were extremely cheap. Then the air force needed to be reinstated, as they quickly discovered their Kirov project was failing. New plans for aircraft were drawn, and they created the MiG-17, and MiG-21. Kamov industries produced a transport helicopter for their troops, seeing how the Allied Nighthawk and Cargo transports were so effective. The MiG-29 and MiG-32 were still in -*test*-('")ing. The Soviet army also took plans for the British Challenger II, but their factories were sabotaged by rebels of the Terror Troops faction, one of the most powerful terrorist organizations. The British sent spies to infiltrate Terror Troop and Soviet hideouts to steal back their Challenger II plans.
Allied and Soviet leaders soon learned that they were both after the menacing Yuri, and proposed a treaty to collaborate and cooperatively destroy Yuri's army. The meeting place has been discovered, so preparations are already arranged. Yuri must use the remainder of his forces in the North Atlantic to halt the signing of the treaty, sever all diplomatic relations between the Allies and the Soviets, and recapture the European continent before the final push to Russia and the hidden Soviet command center, after which the Allies will shortly fall.
Here is a short list of mod changes for 5.0:
new Tech Airbase
Tech Airbase special aircraft
new unit cameos
4 new Skirmish modes
tons of new units
new multiplayer maps
enhanced AI
new campaigns
new 'super-unit' for each faction in 'Super War' mode
new animations for existing weapons
I also changed the sidebar a little. Here you can see the new recolored building progress meter for each side.
I'm gonna give each country a specific tank and aircraft too. For tanks, the U.S. gets the M1A1, the British the Challenger II, the Koreans the new Crusader, the Germans the Tank Destroyer and M109, and the French get the jungle-schemed Leopard Tank. For aircraft, the U.S. get the F-117 stealth bomber, the British get the K-2B high-speed attacker, the Koreans get the Black Falcon, the Germans currently have none yet, and the French get the A129 attack helicopter.
Now I've renamed the 'Super War' Skirmish mode to 'Total Armageddon.' It will give each side a special super-unit, which is very powerful, plus a new superweapon. The Allies get an Ion Cannon, the Soviets get a Meteor Strike, and Yuri's is in development, so no details are available yet.
Many new weapons are used in 5.0, now including virus technology, flamethrowers, railguns, mind-warping gas, and more high-explosive missiles than you can shake a tesla coil at! Time to recount the total number of new units again!
Stuff still to do:
1. Tech Airbase special aircraft
2. Aircraft Research and Production Facility and its available planes
3. new unit cameos
4. new multiplayer maps including special scenario maps

YAY! Ill definetly be downloading YNT: Armageddon now
I knew there were mods turning YR into SW, but I thought what the heck and made a skirmish mode that does the same thing. This is gonna be the most comprehensive collection of skirmish modes and multiplayer replay value ever!
thats some big changes list dude!
Other changes and cameos:
Some Advance Wars unit cameos. I think they went well. More units will be available.
I've also made some skirmish map scenarios. Here's an exerpt from the manual detailing them:
Map Scenarios
Also exclusive to this mod, these are certain multiplayer maps that have different scenarios. All instructions for these maps must be followed for full effect. The map name in this description is bolded. In the game's skirmish map list, look for maps with names starting with SC: There aren't many yet, but more will follow.
1. Protect The Alamo On this modified Alamo map, you must defend the Alamo and destroy your opponent. If the Alamo is destroyed by either player, you lose. Works for any skirmish mode but Land Rush.
2. A Path Beyond 2: Devastation On this modified Path Beyond 2 map, you, as player 1, start with a ConYard on a small island and the rest of your forces on the mainland. Player 2 gets a predeployed and well-defended base in the Northeast. The winning conditions include: As player 1, destroy the enemy's ConYard in the back of his base which is walled off by sandbags, while defending your island ConYard. As player 2, destroy the island ConYard. This scenario is best played with player 1 as an Allied country, and player 2 as a Soviet country, and in Blood Bath skirmish mode.
And a work in progress: 3. Cold War Crisis This map is massive, but you need all the space you can get between you and the 100 of each: Rhinos, Apocs, Soviet Laser Tanks, Terror Drones, and V3s you can get. You start in a small underpowered base at the bottom left corner of the map and must fend off this tank armada and destroy a nuclear missile silo in the enemy base on the other side of the map to win. Lose your ConYard and it's all over.
